Comments from Ross

“It was a big risk taking on two rookie drivers, however, both had international racing experience, Marcos having raced in Europe and David had just returned from racing in the States in Indy 2000. It was hard work to try and convince sponsors of their potential.

At the AGP Marcos in his first race managed to put the car on pole but was knocked around by the more experienced drivers.

Both drivers have very different personalities and driving styles, Marcos was very intense and professional working hard at his craft and David relied more on natural ability, but both wanted to win and prove themselves.”

Shane spent his formative years racing ATVs on natural terrain motocross tracks and a Quarter Midget on speedway ovals before a brief but typically successful dalliance with karts. Since then he has been on a fast track to major Australasian success. In 2010, driving the SBR #9 SP Tools Racing Falcon, Shane has already shown signs that have marked him as a future star of V8 Supercars.
Slade stamped his mark as a man to watch in 2006, when he finished runner up in the Australia Formula Ford Championship. Since then he has also seen success in the Fujistu Development Series and this year is entering his second fulltime season in the V8 Supercars main game racing alongside his SBR teammates in the #47 Wilson Security Racing Falcon.
