Even when you know the track very well, it is still challenging. It is also such a unique mixture of permanent circuit and public roads. | | Favourite Race and why | Le Mans 24 Hours. Awesome track which you never really stop learning and like Bathurst has a great mixture of permanent and temporary circuits. The atmosphere at that race is amazing and to push 100% for a whole 24 hours (in our case there was basically only 2 drivers) is such a challenge on so many different fronts. At the time you just want it to be over but the next day you would like nothing more than to start all over and do it again. | | Most memorable racing moment | Winning my first race in Europe. Rd.1 of the 2001 German Carrera Cup at Ockenheim | | Greatest personal influence | Basically my racing influences nearly everything I do. Every time I make a decision, I have to contemplate how that decision will affect my ability to be successful in motorsport. | | I prepare for a race by | Being as prepared as possible in all area. This allows me to be more relaxed before each race, knowing I have one all I can. | | Best advice ever given | To try and be nice to everyone and not burn bridges by bad mouthing people. | | Best/Worst part of the job | Obviously to be paid for doing what is basically my hobby and something I am passionate about is a privilege nobody should take for granted. The worst part is the lack of job security and the affect politics can have on our SPORT. | | Significance of helmet design | Was designed during class at school when I should have been learning something! | | You'll never see me without | My phone or my Citizen watch. | | Favourite food | Most things that are sweet. | | Favourite movie | - | | Music on my iPod | Too much to list but Powderfinger, Something for Kate, Kings of Leon have been played a bit lately. | | To exercise regime includes | Mainly running and some strength work. | | Person I'd most like to meet | - | Driver Stats | Touring Car/V8 Supercar Championship Series Debut | 2004 Sandown 500 | | No of starts: | - | | No of poles: | - | | First Win: | - | | Podium Finishes: | - | | First season in a V8 Supercar: | - | | First major crash: | - | | First Bathurst | 2004 | | Number of Bathurst starts | 5 | | Superstitions | None | | Personal Sponsors: | - | | Alex Davison on the season ahead | To form a great relationship with my new team and to learn as much as possible about V8 Supercars and what they need from a technical and driving point of view. Obviously with the aim being to get to a point where we are consistently at the front of the field. | Alex Davison Career Highlights

ALEX DAVISON
Alex comes from a true motor racing family. His father Richard and late grandfather Lex Davison have seen much success in open wheel categories. Alex's motor racing career began when he served his driver apprenticeship racing karts where he won the Australian Karting Championship in 1995. 2009 will see Alex complete against his younger brother, Will as he takes to the track in the new #4 IRWIN Racing Falcon.

SHANE VAN GISBERGEN
Shane spent his formative years racing ATVs on natural terrain motocross tracks and a Quarter Midget on speedway ovals before a brief but typically successful dalliance with karts. Since then he has been on a fast track to major Australasian success. In 2009, driving the SBR #9 SP Tools Racing Falcon, Shane has already shown signs that have marked him as a future star of V8 Supercars.
