Home track pole position for Courtney

JELD-WEN Motorsport’s James Courtney has claimed pole position at Stone Brothers Racing’s home track today with a sizzling 1:10.7351 second lap of Queensland Raceway’s 3.12km circuit.

The JELD-WEN Motorsport Falcon didn’t look to have the same pace it had in yesterday’s practice session early in qualifying, Courtney forced to use two sets of tyres to get inside the top 20.

He used his third and final set of greens in the second leg, leaving the JELD-WEN Motorsport crew to select the best set of used tyres for the final ten minute session.

The JELD-WEN Motorsport Falcon came on as qualifying progressed, Courtney leaving the best until last, setting his fastest lap time with about two minutes remaining in the session.

Race one takes place at 3:35pm this afternoon.
