STONE BROTHERS RACING TAKE A ROAD TRIP IN THE LEAD UP TO THE TOWNSVILLE 400
In the lead up to the inaugural Dunlop Townsville 400 event, Shane van Gisbergen and Alex Davison will be travelling 1713kms in a Winnebago Leisure Seeker by Motoco from SBR’s workshop on the Gold Coast to Townsville over five days.
    Davison’s ‘Sprint’ to the Podium
IRWIN Racing’s Alex Davison surpassed even his own expectations today when he finished Race 2 of the Sky City Triple Crown in Darwin in second place. His podium finish was thanks to a brilliant and risky race strategy and his best ever qualifying result, starting on the grid in tenth position.
    A SHOT AT REDEMPTION
The Sky City Triple Crown dished out some cruel blows today when Alex Davison lost an engine four laps onto the first part of Qualifying. His Teammate, Shane van Gisbergen didn’t fare much better starting on the grid in 23rd after failing to record a lap quick enough to make it into the next elimination leg.

    ALEX DAVISON
Alex comes from a true motor racing family. His father Richard and late grandfather Lex Davison have seen much success in open wheel categories. Alex's motor racing career began when he served his driver apprenticeship racing karts where he won the Australian Karting Championship in 1995. 2009 will see Alex complete against his younger brother, Will as he takes to the track in the new #9 IRWIN Racing Falcon.
    SHANE VAN GISBERGEN
Shane spent his formative years racing ATVs on natural terrain motocross tracks and a Quarter Midget on speedway ovals before a brief but typically successful dalliance with karts. Since then he has been on a fast track to major Australasian success. In 2009, driving the SBR #9 SP Tools Racing Falcon, Shane has already shown signs that have marked him as a future star of V8 Supercars.
